HOPE Festival, sponsored by Peace & Justice Center of Eastern Maine
University of Maine Field House - Orono, 10am - 4pm

This annual event is a wonderful place to network with all kinds of peace, justice, and environmental organizations, with about 60 different outfits setting up this year in the spacious field house. The entertainment in the adjacent area was wonderful, highlighted by a performance by Noel Paul Stookey of Blue Hill, of "Peter, Paul and Mary" fame. I confess to tearing up at "Blowing In the Wind." David and I helped staff tables for Democracy for America, Bangor Chapter and the Penobscot County Democrats. We joined Richard Burk and Gary Watson at the DFA/Bangor table, and Jim Martin and Patrick Downey at the PCDC table. |
